The Küssnacht District

The tax attractive district of Küssnacht am Rigi is situated in the Canton of Schwyz at the foot of the majestic mount Rigi, generally known as the queen of the Swiss mountains, and on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The lake community counts over 12000 inhabitants and offers a very high standard of living.

Küssnacht has direct highway access as well as a helicopter port on its border. The community is well located between the nearby business centres Lucerne (14 km), Zug (23 km), Zürich (43 km) and the Zürich Airport.

The district has good shopping facilities, excellent schools and restaurants and offers many sports and leisure facilities. These include a Swiss leading golf club (www.gck.ch), a tennis club, the yacht harbour and numerous ski slopes and hiking trails on mount Rigi. Paragliding (www.rigi-gliders.ch/english/index_en.html), water sports, mountain biking etc can be practised nearby.

Various lake side restaurants in Küssnacht and in the nearby villages offer gourmet wining and dining. The FOCUS restaurant in Parkhotel Vitznau and the restaurants of Parkhotel Weggis are famous.

A school bus takes the children to and from the international schools Zug/Lucerne.

The Canton of Schwyz offers the largest discount on dividend taxation from qualified share holdings, a very low estate tax and levies no inheritance or gift tax.
